teleCalm’s Priority Response Service
Priority Response is a great upgrade to the teleCalm Caregiver service for seniors living at home who call 9-1-1 unnecessarily.
Seniors sometimes have the problem of continually calling 9-1-1, even when there is not an emergency. This can lead to families and caregivers feeling the only solution is removing the senior’s phone. But that is the senior’s connection to friends and family — sometimes their ONLY connection. And the phone provides needed relief from isolation and loneliness.
For those living in a private residence, adding Priority Response to our Caregiver service can solve these 9-1-1 calling issues!
With our Priority Response service, calls to 9-1-1 will connect your loved one to the U.S.-based emergency response center. An EMT certified operator will speak with your loved one to determine the issue, then contact you to determine if emergency assistance is required.
How it works
When your loved one dials 9-1-1, instead of connecting directly to the local 911 Operator (PSAP), the call will be answered by an EMT certified operator in our Emergency Response Center.
- The operator will speak with your loved one and determine if this is an emergency or a non-emergency request.
- The operator will then begin calling / texting the contact numbers provided by the family caregiver to relay the call info and ask the contact whether to dispatch police/fire/medical.
- If the operator is unable to reach anyone on the contact list and it is determined to be an emergency, the operator will then dispatch police/fire/medical.
Priority Response Service is exclusively available to teleCalm Caregiver subscribers for an additional $12.99 per month. The monthly service includes up to four (4) 9-1-1 calls per month, with additional 9-1-1 calls billed $2 per call. This is a month-to-month service and can be canceled at any time.
